I know that this journal entry will probably get me shunned by like everyone I know, but What the fuck? I mean really! I'm all for different spins on things, but something so dark and morbid like vampires should not have the popular spin on it that it does. Besides that fact, I hate to say it, but the "Vampires" totally fucked up the concept and, in my opion, the appeal of a vampire. Vampires are dark, seductive, CREATURES OF THE NIGHT. Let me repeat that: CREATURES OF THE NIGHT! Good God, they should not be going to schools and what have you. I tried conforming to see why everyone likes the book so much, but I can't stomach it. I'm a die hard vampire fan, but that book takes things too far and it drives me insane. Still, after the movie has been made, so many people talk about and won't shut up about it that it made me write this because some people are just so close minded that I can't even begin to express my point of view without getting brutally shot down. I will admitt, the writing style is good, but the mix of things that should not be mixed just turns me off of that book and resenting myself for having even wasted my time with a book that I already knew would probably make me mad. Ok... Venting over... This was not to alter anyone's perseption of the book or movie, just a way for me to vent my feelings about it without getting shot down in midsentence.
